Clearing the Closet, Claiming Ourselves Healing Circle

At this month’s Healing Circle, we asked a simple but layered question:

What are you removing from your closet—literally and figuratively?

The answers came in waves—honest, unfiltered, and deeply necessary.

The clothing swap was a beautiful exchange of fabric and outdated stuff. Conversations initially centered on releasing clothes that no longer fit their bodies or reflected how they saw themselves today. Like every circle, clothing involvement or not, focus turned to what they were outgrowing emotionally: relationships that had run their course, habits shaped by survival, expectations that no longer applied. Conversations about sobriety, beyond substance and exhaustion, had been dismissed for too long. We didn’t talk around anything; we said what needed to be said.  It was the first circle for many, but they comfortably shared and held space for one another.

It was somewhat of a release ritual, the goal. Gowns, cocktail dresses, graphic tees, button-ups, fabrics filled the space. Items that once held meaning and now made room for something else. Women picked up pieces that felt right for who they are now.

There was no pressure or performative conversation. Just clarity, reflection. and lovely exchanges.

And as always, we closed with food. Healthy, grounding plates—seasonal fruit, hearty greens, rice dishes, and hydrating drinks. We believe in ending things well. That includes meals, moments, and patterns.

This healing circle reminded us that growth doesn’t always look like arrival—it often starts with release. We’re proud to hold space for that.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hands, open hearts, and bags full of possibilities. See you at the next one.

Stay connected. Join the next circle. We’re not done.
